Farm Bureau

Maryland Farm Bureau

The Maryland Farm Bureau is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for farmers and the agricultural industry in Maryland. The Bureau works to influence public policy, provide educational programs, and promote the importance of agriculture to the state’s economy and way of life. Through community outreach and legislative efforts, the Maryland Farm Bureau plays a vital role in ensuring that farming remains a viable and respected profession in Maryland. The program is completely controlled by its members through the democratic process and is financed by voluntary membership dues. Its strength comes from the active participation of nearly 10,000 member families that belong to the state’s 23 county Farm Bureaus.

In addition to its advocacy work, the Maryland Farm Bureau offers valuable resources and support services to its members. These include leadership development programs, youth scholarships, and networking opportunities that help strengthen the agricultural community. The organization also collaborates with local, state, and national partners to address key issues such as land use, environmental regulations, and rural infrastructure. By providing a unified voice for farmers and promoting sustainable practices, the Maryland Farm Bureau helps ensure that agriculture in the state continues to thrive for future generations.
