Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) is a nationally renowned non-profit focused on rehabilitating horses and educating the community on proper equine treatment. The rescue, located in Woodbine, opened in 1989 with just one horse named Toby. Today, we rehabilitate around 130 horses annually!

Our farm facilitates and oversees the entire rehabilitation process of seized neglected, abused, and abandoned horses. Each horse receives individualized and meticulous evaluation, care, and training. Horses may then be adopted as either riding partners or companions.

Visit our website for information on volunteering, internships, educational opportunities, workshops, and camps. We welcome individuals, families, and groups to volunteer. Looking for a unique and fun way to strengthen communication and rapport among your team? Now is a great opportunity for employees to unite around your company’s values and translate those values into community service projects.
